The Waiting Room Solutions “Medical Office Management System” is the part of the Waiting Room Solutions system for use within and amongst one or more free-standing office locations of a physician practice. Such system includes the following modules and functionality:
- Electronic medical record that permits physicians and other providers the ability to record the outpatient encounter;
- Appointment scheduler for scheduling appointments with physicians and healthcare providers in the medical office;
- Billing system that allows for the submission of bills through a clearinghouse and the reconciliation of payments;
- Secure patient messaging that permits patients to securely message the medical practice and receive secure responses;
- Website creation that allows a practice to create a customized specialty specific website;
- Patient registration that permits patients and office staff to enter demographic, insurance and health information about the patient.
The Waiting Room Solutions “Medical Office Management System,” refers to the application software system utilizing a Linux operating system, Apache web server and MySQL database. The programming language is PHP. The database is structured in a 5 tier architecture. The system is delivered to the end-user through the Internet using an Application Service Provider model. Programming follows object oriented design and strategies for data integrity include use of standardized data vocabularies and standardized healthcare messaging formats.
The electronic medical record system includes the following features:
- Chart Room to pull chart and a current charts section to quickly view pulled charts.
- Specialty specific templates which can be customized to the individual user.
- Template driven exams for common encounters.
- Pre formatted lists of chief complaints, review-of-systems, physical exam findings, diagnosis codes, and disposition.
